Creative Place Consulting serves as a trusted thought partner and tactical advisor on non-profit strategy for the Institute for AfroUrbanism.

AfroUrbanism is a movement activating interdimensional Black Genius for the ideation and manifestation of thriving Black futures. Manifested by visionary Lauren Hood, IAU serves as a catalyst for the urban development, intellectual exchange, and creative enrichment of Black citizens worldwide. We deeply cherish the opportunity to ride in the passenger seat and help navigate IAU on it’s journey to new, and unchartered dimensions of the Black Diaspora.

• Advise the Executive Director on start-up strategy, organizational development and fundraising.

• Developed a business plan and $2M grant proposal for development of Detroit’s premiere Black co-working and gathering space.

• Serve as fractional COO, leading several organizational development activities including two-year strategic work planning and budget, contractor management, staffing and program design, and non-profit governance.
